Boise City Canal begins at Warm Springs golf course below Goodwin Dam in the Boise River. It runs through the golf course and then parallel to Warm Springs ave on the south side through the back yards of the homes. It crosses Broadway below Dona Larsen Park and then runs behind the Courthouse and down Grove street, delivering water to the water wheel at C.W. Moore Park. It then continues through the Basque Block and around the Grove Hotel and winds through downtown Boise, crossing at 15th and State street all while being underground. It resurfaces around 19th and Ada street and continues northwest following the valley's gradually descending terrain. The Boise City Canal terminates near Collister and Hill road, where it drains into the Farmers Union Canal.
