Background
The Boise City Canal Company seeks to fill one position on our five member volunteer board of directors starting in January, 2025. The board of directors is responsible for the management of the operations of the Canal Company in compliance with the articles of incorporation, bylaws and applicable laws of the State of Idaho. Interested parties may complete the application form.
Qualifications
Applicants for the board of directors must be Boise City Canal shareholders, as defined by Article IV of the Company Bylaws.
Applicants should be able to attend and participate in monthly meetings of the board of directors and demonstrate a willingness to engage in additional activities, including interactions with members and affected stakeholders, site visits to research issues on the canal, and other related activities. Applicants should have some general familiarity with irrigation systems.
Additionally, experience in the following areas may be beneficial:
Directors are unpaid volunteers, and must commit to attending a monthly meeting (typically the 3rd Tuesday 6:30-9pm), being responsive to email, and offering insight and leadership to the organization for the benefit of the shareholders.
